About this service

Most painting jobs fail in the prep, not the paint. We spend more time on prep - patching, sanding, caulking, masking - than the actual application. That's why our work holds up after years instead of months.

We paint interiors and exteriors for homeowners and small businesses across East Village, Lower East Side, and the rest of Manhattan. Most jobs are 1 to 3 days. Multi-room or full-home repaints take a week or two. Whatever the scope, we leave the site cleaner than we found it.

Working in East Village or one of nine other Manhattan cities? We’ve done painting work in all of them. Curious how we run a job site? Read our story.

Verified Google Review
Look no further — East Village General Contractor is the answer. Professional, responsive, and the work is phenomenal. I had some wall and door damage in my apartment I needed fixed and repainted. Their team gave me a fair quote and got the job done quickly and perfectly. They even followed up afterward to make sure everything was good. No matter the size of the job, you can depend on them.

FAQ

Questions East Village homeowners ask before booking

How long does an interior paint job take?
A single room is usually 1–2 days. A typical 2-bedroom apartment full repaint takes 3–5 days. A full house: 1–2 weeks. The biggest variable is how much wall prep is needed (patching, skim-coating, drywall repair).
What paint brands do you use?
We default to Benjamin Moore Aura or Regal Select for walls, and Sherwin-Williams Pro Classic for trim and doors. Both are premium-grade paints that actually hold up. If you want a specific brand or product, we'll use it.
Do I need to move furniture before you arrive?
No - we move furniture as part of the job. Smaller items get carried out of the room; larger items get pulled to the center and covered. We bring our own drop cloths, masking, and floor protection.
How long should a paint job last?
Interior paint should last 7–10 years on walls and 5–7 on high-traffic trim. Exterior paint in this climate lasts 5–8 years depending on sun exposure and surface prep. The reason most paint jobs fail early is bad prep, not bad paint - that's the part we spend the most time on.
Do you do lead-safe painting in older homes?
Yes. Many East Village brownstones and pre-1978 buildings have lead paint under newer layers. We follow EPA RRP lead-safe practices when working in those homes - proper containment, certified workers, HEPA cleanup.
Can I live in my home during a paint job?
Yes. We work in one room or area at a time so you can use the rest of the home. Modern paints are low-VOC and low-odor - most clients have no issue staying.
